Geography is Emo
The following is written as a dialog and presented in a script-esque format. The character names are irrelevant and are not a part of any greater character arc.
George: Sal, you just need to get over it.
Sally: Whatever… Cry me a minor tributary of intermittent sadness.
George: What!?! What the fuck does that even mean.
Sally: There are many tributaries that feed into the much larger river of depression. My little, as you so aptly described it, problem would be one of these that has an irregular cycle of runoff.
George: Uh huh… So, you’ve thought about this for a while.
Sally: You don’t think about the geography of emotion?
George: Not like… Anyway, what’s past the river of depression?
Sally: Oh. The mouth of the river forms the delta of self denial. A ways from that is the archipelago of misplaced wishes.
George: Gotcha. But why is it self denial and not just denial that has created the misplaced wish archipelago out of silt and other mineral deposits?
Sally: Because just south of the delta sits the fjord of loneliness, and I though simple denial belonged more appropriately farther north with other kinds of sadness like..
George: Wait just a sec.. How does a fjord sit right next to a delta, that’s not geologically sound at all.
Sally: It’s an imaginary landscape asshole! I can put the fjords anywhere I goddamn want!
George: I still think you’ve spent way too much time on this.
Sally: Whatever, just get over it.
