Message to Chris
Dear Chris,
Chris, I am writing you this message because you needed to talk to yourself…
Your recent decisions have been good. You’ve actually been thinking most things through before acting on things. Going home is one of those good things. Tying up loose ends, not leaving things undone, not running from problems, and pursuing what makes you happy. These are good things, but now you should probably make more than one plan. Or you should plan two steps ahead of where you are, not just step one and step ten.
Also Chris, you have great number of interests and talents. This being said, you should probably pick something to focus on at some point in the near future. While your lack of direction makes life fun and interesting, you are starting to skirt the dangerous reefs of being that dick who tells other people to make plans while you have no idea what you’re doing. So making some actual goals and not just plans would be a good idea. Once again, small goals that in one line lead you somewhere. You should probably start doing this tomorrow, not “soon”.
Remember, you don’t owe anything to anyone. Except that $1,050 you owe your dad for your plane ticket. You don’t have any social debt, you have nothing to prove, and all of your friends are good people who don’t dare what you do, just that you do what you think is right for you. You should remember that last fact. Not one of your friends cares if you do anything cool, they care about you. And that is why you have genuinely cool friends.
Just thought a few reminders would be good for you ole buddy.
Take care,
The management

Good post. Ever consider moving east? Josie and I think we will be going back to New Englad and the more the merrier.
I would certainly consider it. A bit poor at the moment, but I have no objections to the area. If you’re around for awhile longer we should take a trip out there.
It would also help my goal, same as yours, to be somewhere much more able to get a PhD.
