“Read a Book”? Advertising Gone Too Far

This bizarre PSA, reportedly airing on BET, exhorts young black men to “read a fuckin’ book, nigga.”

Directed by Tyree Dillihay. Music by Bomani “D’Mite” Armah and Animation by Six Point Harness.

I watched the video… And I can honestly say it is perhaps the weirdest most disturbing thing I have seen in a long time. I know they want to get a message across, and sometimes you have to be blunt. However, in my opinion this not only crosses the line but goes far enough past it to draw whole new lines in the sand.
