I Don’t Do Resolutions
Over the course of this month there have been many posts by bloggers about their resolutions for the New Year. You may have noticed an absence of such resolutions here. And for good reason. I don’t do them.
There plenty of good reasons for people to make resolutions. Some of the best sets I have seen are from self-development bloggers on Entrecard. The most definite goals I have seen are from those who are losing weight and getting fit.
I don’t need to lose weight, and I’m already doing basic workouts at home to stay in shape. In fact, all of my goals have either already been in progress, or don’t require much in the way of a goal for the year. All of my projects are either on very fluid timelines, or they are rather short term goals that may or may not lead to other things.
For me the new year is just something I have to remember for check writing and dating official memos. And even on that level the vast majority of things I would have to write checks for are now taken care of by my bank.
So there were no resolutions, nor shall there be any. This might be a new year, but for me it is all included in the smooth day to day movement of life.
