Monday Music: Johnny Cash “Hurt”
This is the Johnny Cash video of the song “Hurt” originally written and recorded by Trent Reznor. This video has gone further than being a simple cover and is an amazing tribute to the life and people close to Cash. I can’t find a reference but I do believe Reznor himself even crediting Cash as making this video much more powerful and meaningful than his original.
This was also the last video made by Johnny Cash. Enjoy it and remember a truly great artist.

It is a sad song, but I really think the last phrase is incredibly uplifting. We all have certain regrets, but once it comes to the end we would probably repeat a path very close to the same.
Our mistakes are who we are, and they show us the way forward. At least that is what I take from it at the end.

That’s one of my favourite songs. The video just adds to it. So poignant. It really did feel like he was declaring the end. I agree with that last comment Chris - that’s what I take from it too.
