Is it a Sign?

With some of the deciding democratic primaries now over for the party, I have been tempted to check back in to the news and see how things went. Although maybe I should give a little background on why I am so out of the loop first…

When I moved to Natick I decided to forego TV. It was actually one of the easier decisions I made in my life. By taking only one car for the move space was rather limited, so anything bulky was right out the window. Being poor also helped, buying a new TV, stand, and accessories was not outside of my ability to buy, but well outside what would give me the ability to generate any savings. So bam, no TV.

So I became a bit on a blog and internet news junkie. The 4-Hour Work Week killed that for me. I have been on a fairly low information diet for the past 2-3 months. It’s not an overly restrictive information diet, but I tend to avoid reading any large amount of news because of the feeling the world would come tumbling down if I didn’t know what some overpaid executive said about gold futures. Instead I read what I enjoy, what other well informed people say, and tap my friends for important events.

So now that you have that background…

I decided to check bloglines and see what the new stories were in my subscription section dedicated to politics and world news (which has mostly just received a weekly “mark all as read” hit). I think it may have been a bad idea.

The number of unread entries was exactly 666.

Apparently after not checking news long enough, my re-entry into the world events has inadvertently become a sign of the apocalypse. So when the world ends suddenly, you can blame me, my bad.
