Marines in Berkley
Now I appreciate liberals as much as the next guy from Colorado. Which basically means the only state less red than mine might be Wyoming. But I can’t help but notice that people on the bleeding edge of hippie always demand that their free speech be totally unrestricted, but you put a Gov’ment Agent of any kind nearby and that guys rights go right out the window.
All branches of the military frequented my college. There were also a couple of groups that protested that fact, and despite my hate of the fact that their anti-military rhetoric was just as blind as the opposing forces, they moved from trying to block the military from showing up to setting up a table that offered negative commentary. At least they broke down to allowing the military the right to be there, just as they had the right to give a different opinion.
All that being said… I really am a liberal of some kind… Ok, I’m more liberal than most people in Colorado. Just read my other blog! Total crazy liberal talk over there.

I just want to make sure I got this right. They were trying to block a member of the US military from being heard by anyone. I guess they forgot that it is our military that during our history that has fought and died those ignorant fools could have the right to free speech. I was in the military. As a passer by I would have walked up and questions about what they were doing then I would ask them who they feel is responsible for their right to free speech.
Our freedom was not given to us. We took it through military force. Instead of trying to ban the man they should be shaking his hand. He like others have taken an oath to protect our rights under the constitution. If not for our military men and women these ignorant people have the ability to bad mouth whomever they want.
Jim – I fully agree that we need to start respecting both the sacrifices our armed services members have made and that they not only have rights but work to defend our own. Thanks for stopping by!
