Wednesday Image: You Have a Package

In the great world of packages, sometimes you get exactly what you expect.
Take the above image. Think of the last time you had a package go missing, now think of how the process of trying to find it made you feel. Don’t worry, there is soap in the other room to help make that futile attempt to feel clean again.
This actually happened to me recently with a gift I ordered. It was being shipped to my apartment via UPS. What I like about UPS is they normally just leave the package inside my building at my door with no problems. Unless, of course, I need the package on some kind of schedule.
They first left an attempted delivery note. I also attempted to sign this to authorize them to leave the package at the door… To preface, the ’sign and leave’ option was not originally checked, I added that… UPS was not amused. The next day there was another slip with the signature line clearly crossed out.
So the next day I took a half day from work (normally Friday is a half day, so I simply switched which day I took off early) to wait for the package. Upon seeing the UPS truck show up in the afternoon I also waited by my door buzzer/intercom ready to have a .2 second response time. Then the delivery guy simply walked into my building and left the package at my door…
I was indeed the recipient of a 40 lb. box of rape. All that pain and suffering, just to have them leave the package for me like I had originally hoped.
