About
/WHOIS Chris Schaffer
I am a student of many disciplines. I have been involved in art, writing, music, philosophy, psychology, and web design for as long as I can remember. I enjoy having a variety of hobbies, activities, and developing talents. I am never satisfied with anything, I seek new and better ways of doing anything I am involved in. This attitude often sends me crashing into walls haphazardly, but I learn something new from every bruise. Every site I create, story I write, or new idea I pursue helps me expand what I can do and how I understand the world. However, while doing so many things I tend to randomly fall behind in some places then get forced into trying to sprint ahead.
Education
I am received my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy from Mesa State College in 2006. I loved every moment of my college career, the friends I made, the challenges classes presented, and the quality professors who educated me.
I look forward to furthering my education as soon as I am able to. Unfortunately money always creates problems for pursuing graduate school endeavors. Once I have money or a company that will support me, I will tackle either a Master’s or PhD in Social or I/O Psychology.
What is Darkside Dreamland
Darkside Dreamland is an experiment. It was originally created for my creative writing around 1998. After that it was used to market my writing, web design, and graphic design services that I offered for a while (this was around version 4 of the site). It was then reconverted to a site for simply my writing and new found ventures into space art.
The current version is version 8 of Darkside Dreamland. I like the freedom a blog gives me over the “normal” site I was used to building and maintaining. I can freely switch what I focus on and themes (which I often do) without having to do any sort of top-down redesign and worry about where my pretty content will go.
At some point version 8 will fade out. There will be one final version which will come when I actually create my own theme for only this site. I really like using and changing between other peoples’ creations, but this site has always developed its own character and it will again. I just need to find code savvy people to help me iron out all the areas I dare not venture with my current amateur coding abilities.
